Luster named even-money favourite for King's Plate

Luster, the Woodbine Oaks winner, has been installed as the early even-money favourite for the $1-million King's Plate. The race, which serves as the first jewel of Canada’s Triple Crown, will feature a 12-horse field at Woodbine Racetrack.

Luster will compete from the rail position following Tuesday's draw. Hall of Fame jockey John Velazquez is scheduled to ride the filly for trainer Josie Carroll. Other notable contenders in the field include Highwaytothemoon, the Plate Trial Stakes winner, who is listed at 6-1 odds and will start from the No. 8 post, and Brachetto, the 5-1 early second pick, starting from the No. 3 post.
