Lustheim school bus service to be limited for 2026/27 school year

The Lustheim school bus service will continue for the 2026/27 school year, but only for early morning trips to the Berglwaldschule. Due to economic reasons and the high cost of maintaining driver standby times, afternoon bus services will be discontinued.

Local authorities are looking toward public transport as a long-term solution. The municipality is considering supporting the MVV 365-euro annual ticket for students with a subsidy of up to 50 percent. To assist with the transition, parents have volunteered to serve as student guides at busy crossings.

During the upcoming school year, parents will be surveyed to determine their preferred transportation solutions for the 2027/28 academic year.
