Luther College and Rushford-Peterson Schools launch admission partnership

Luther College and Rushford-Peterson Schools have launched a Preferred Admission Partnership to expand higher education access for qualifying students. Formally initiated on September 28, the agreement provides a direct pathway to admission at Luther College for students who meet specific academic criteria.

To qualify, students must maintain an unweighted GPA of 3.25 and complete Algebra II by the end of their junior year. Students who opt into the program and remain in good academic standing at Rushford-Peterson High School will receive preferred admission status and a $500 scholarship award, in addition to potential institutional merit awards.

Luther College President Brad Chamberlain noted that the partnership marks the college’s first such agreement with a Minnesota-based school. Rushford-Peterson Schools Superintendent Ben Bernard stated the initiative recognizes student hard work and provides opportunities to pursue education close to home.
