Lutheran Synod in Germany to discuss new collaborative wiki framework

The Lutheran Synod in Germany is convening in Würzburg from November 6 to 9 for its 13th general session. A primary focus of the meeting is the discussion of the first twelve articles of the ‘Evangelisch-wiki’, a new collaborative framework for church life.

This document, designed in a wiki format, serves as a common regulatory framework for the United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Germany (VELKD) and the Union of Evangelical Churches (UEK). By utilizing a wiki structure, the church allows for an open process where participants can view modifications and follow the progression toward a final text.

The session agenda also includes the 2025 budget, financial plans for 2027 and 2028, and reports on Lutheran identity, interculturality, and diversity. Additionally, a workshop on intergenerational justice, led by members of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF), is scheduled for Saturday morning.
