Žlutice arson investigation suspended after deaths of five dogs

Police investigators have suspended the search for the perpetrator responsible for an arson attack at the Vlčí doupě breeding station in Žlutice. The incident, which occurred on the night of August 18–19 last year, resulted in the deaths of five female Caucasian Shepherd dogs.

Investigations determined the fire was intentional, as the kennel had been doused with gasoline before being ignited. Despite an intensive investigation and a public appeal for information, authorities have been unable to identify a specific suspect or gather sufficient evidence to initiate criminal proceedings.

Public interest in the case led to a collective reward of 63,200 CZK offered by various individuals to anyone providing information leading to an arrest. Although the case is currently suspended, police stated that the investigation can be reopened if new witnesses, evidence, or information emerge.
