Luup to launch micro-mobility sharing service in Saitama City

Luup Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of its micro-mobility sharing service in Saitama City, Japan, starting September 10, 2026. The initiative is part of a demonstration experiment scheduled to run until the end of October 2027.

In collaboration with Saitama City and Tsunagu Co., Ltd., the project aims to address local transportation challenges, such as taxi shortages in certain areas and traffic congestion caused by short-distance private vehicle use. The service will initially offer approximately 30 vehicles, split equally between electric assisted bicycles and electric seat boards, across 13 ports, with plans for gradual expansion.

To celebrate the launch, a campaign will run from September 10 to September 16, offering unlimited free rides for durations of 30 minutes or less. Additionally, a safety seminar in cooperation with Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. will be held on the first day of service to educate users on traffic rules and safe operation.
