Luverne hosts 56th annual Worlds Largest Peanut Boil

The 56th annual Worlds Largest Peanut Boil, organized by the Crenshaw County Alcazar Shrine Club, is scheduled to begin on September 2 in Luverne. The event will run through Labor Day weekend or until all stock is sold.

Proceeds from the sale of boiled peanuts—priced at $5 for small bags and $10 for large bags—will be donated to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Local officials and organizers highlighted the event as a long-standing community tradition focused on service and supporting pediatric healthcare.
