Luxeed R7 crossover receives interior redesign and motor upgrade
Luxeed, a joint project between Chery and Huawei under the HIMA alliance, has announced updates to its R7 coupe-style crossover. While the exterior dimensions and general silhouette remain unchanged, the vehicle features updated semi-hidden door handles and two new body color options.
The interior has undergone a significant redesign, featuring a new dashboard with vertical air vents and an integrated instrument cluster. The previous 16.1-inch multimedia tablet has been replaced by a dual-screen setup, with each screen measuring 17.2 inches. Additionally, the center tunnel refrigerator is now retractable.
Technically, the base electric version will feature a more powerful 227 kW (309 HP) rear-mounted motor. The model will continue to be offered in both hybrid and electric configurations, with various drivetrain options including rear-wheel and all-wheel drive. Local reports suggest that orders for the 2027 model year may open before the end of this month.
