Luxeed R7 updated version to debut this month with Huawei ADS 5.0

Luxeed is preparing to launch an updated version of the R7 coupe SUV this month, featuring significant upgrades to its cockpit, seating, and driving control systems. Executive Director Zhao Changjiang noted that the new version involves a 500 million yuan investment and includes eight major upgrades.

Recent leaks regarding the interior reveal a dual-screen setup, a transition to a Head-Up Display (HUD), and the integration of the HarmonyOS vehicle system. Other updates include a multi-function knob, improved ambient lighting with a diffuse effect, and enhanced audio systems.

Weibo CEO Wang Gaofei recently shared his experience testing the vehicle, specifically praising the Huawei ADS 5.0 intelligent driving system. He compared its performance favorably to Tesla's FSD V14, highlighting its ability to handle complex maneuvers like Y-shaped parking lot turns and its proactive speed reduction during narrow-road encounters to reduce driver stress.
