Luxeed reveals designer of new RX SUV following Ferrari inquiries

Luxeed has revealed that the designer behind its new premium RX electric SUV is Werner Gruber, following inquiries from Ferrari regarding the vehicle's design similarities to the Ferrari Purosangue. Gruber served as a Senior Lead Exterior Designer at Ferrari between 2010 and 2018, contributing to models such as the LaFerrari, FXX-K, and Portofino.

The Luxeed RX, a joint product of Chery and Huawei, features a silhouette that closely resembles the Italian sports crossover. The SUV is available in two electric configurations. The base model produces 273 kW (371 hp) with a rear-wheel drive setup and an 81 kWh battery, offering a range of approximately 700 km under the CLTC cycle. A more powerful dual-motor, all-wheel-drive version delivers 430 kW (585 hp) from a 100 kWh battery, with a claimed CLTC range of 852 km and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of roughly 3.3 seconds.

Pre-orders for the RX have opened in China with a starting price of approximately 299,800 yuan (around €38,200).
