Luxembourg government proposes new Sportlycée in Mamer
The Luxembourg government has introduced a bill for the construction of a new Sportlycée and boarding school in Mamer. The project is designed to provide a modern, integrated environment for high-level young athletes to balance academic success with sporting excellence.
Since its establishment in 2012, the Sportlycée has seen significant growth, with student numbers increasing from 318 to 506. The current infrastructure faces limitations, including the use of over 15 different training sites and a boarding facility limited to 49 places. The new campus in the An Hiwéng zone aims to centralize teaching, training, and housing on a single site.
