Luxembourg Institute of Health signs new collective labor agreement

The Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) and the OGBL union have signed a new collective labor agreement covering the period from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2028. The agreement introduces several improvements for the institute’s approximately 550 employees.

Key provisions include an increase in meal voucher values, rising from 10.80 euros to 12.80 euros immediately following the signing, and eventually to 14.80 euros by 2028. PhD students will receive a bonus equivalent to 5% of their annual gross salary between 2026 and 2028.

Other benefits include an additional day of leave for employees with at least 10 years of seniority, increased on-call premiums, and indexed Saturday work premiums. The agreement also allows employees to convert a portion of their 13th-month salary into up to five additional days of leave per year. Furthermore, the institute will develop a charter for the right to disconnect and implement flexible working arrangements, caregiver leave, and force majeure leave.
