Luxembourg police target modified vehicles in weekend road checks
Luxembourg police conducted targeted roadside inspections over the weekend aimed at groups of modified or ‘tuned’ vehicles. On Saturday, September 19, patrols were mobilized near the A6 and A1 highways following reports of a large group of vehicles traveling from Belgium toward Luxembourg.
During these controls, officers identified ten speeding violations, 33 infractions for non-compliant technical modifications, and seven instances of dangerous driving. Three vehicles were impounded and one was seized. One driver, who was already under a driving ban, attempted to evade police by fleeing, resulting in damage to their vehicle; an investigation is underway.
On Sunday, additional controls were carried out in Echternach following reports of vehicles arriving from Germany. Police located a group of vehicles near Lake Echternach, where 22 drivers were inspected. These individuals were reported to be cooperative, and most vehicles were found to be in good condition and compliant with regulations. Further monitoring continued near Scheidgen.
