Luxembourg Song Contest selects 12 artists for Eurovision 2027
The Luxembourg Song Contest has announced the 12 artists advancing to the next stage of the selection process for the 71st Eurovision Song Contest. Following in-person auditions held at Radio Télévision Luxembourg (RTL) facilities, a jury evaluated 80 applicants based on vocal quality, artistic identity, and stage presence.
Among the participants were former contest contestants such as Rafa Ela, Angy, Luzac, ShiroKuro, Hugo One, Andrew The Martian, and Daryss. The auditionees performed in various languages, including French, Portuguese, Luxembourgish, Italian, and English. Of the 80 original applicants, 70% held Luxembourgish or dual nationality, 20% reside in the country, and 10% maintain a strong cultural connection to the Grand Duchy.
The successful candidates—Debbie M, Layso Roy, Maya Maunet, Hugo One, Gaïa, Clement Lerat, Patricia Venâncio, Perrine Thomas, Marco Misolic, Jaya, Carmen, and Luisa KIM—will now enter a phase of pairing workshops. During this stage, shortlisted artists will be matched with specific songs to identify the most effective artist-song combinations. The selection process continues with the submission of compositions remaining open until October 29.
