Luxury automotive sector sees Singer-Louis Vuitton collaboration and Karma Gyesera debut
The luxury automotive sector is seeing significant creative and technological shifts, highlighted by high-end collaborations and new hybrid technologies.
Singer Vehicle Design has partnered with Louis Vuitton to create two unique Porsche 911 (964 generation) restomods. The collaboration, which originated from a request for a custom analog dashboard clock inspired by Louis Vuitton’s Tambour collection, evolved into a comprehensive design project. The vehicles feature extensive Louis Vuitton craftsmanship, including leather upholstery similar to the brand’s handbags, custom gear shifts, door locks, and switches. One model features a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated engine producing 426 horsepower, finished in saffron yellow with cobalt blue accents.
Meanwhile, at Pebble Beach, Karma has unveiled the Gyesera Grand Coupé. Moving away from a purely electric focus, the Gyesera utilizes Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) technology, employing a thermal engine as a range extender. The four-seater grand tourer features an aluminum spaceframe and carbon fiber bodywork, producing 574 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque. The vehicle can accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 3.7 seconds. The base price for the Gyesera in the United States is set at $139,995, with initial deliveries expected in December.
