Luxury cruise lines expand enrichment through culinary and intellectual programs
Luxury cruise lines are expanding their onboard enrichment offerings through specialized culinary and intellectual programs.
Silversea has introduced the S.A.L.T. program, a culinary concept designed by food writer Adam Sachs. The program focuses on immersive gastronomic experiences, such as foraging expeditions and cooking workshops. In Portugal, guests can participate in ‘wild-to-table’ dining at Campo Escondido, an organic farm near Lisbon, where chef José Maria Velhinho leads sessions on sustainable food and seasonal produce.
Seabourn has entered a three-year media partnership with The Atlantic to host interactive intellectual salons. The initiative brings journalists and editors aboard voyages to engage guests in discussions regarding politics, technology, history, and culture. The program is scheduled to begin in autumn 2026 aboard the Seabourn Ovation, covering New England and the Caribbean, and will culminate in a milestone voyage in 2028.
