Luxury Food 2026 awards held at the Italian Senate
The inaugural Luxury Food 2026 awards were held on October 22 at the Sala Zuccari in the Palazzo Giustiniani, the seat of the Italian Senate. The ceremony honored 32 chefs from Italy and around the world for their contributions to contemporary gastronomic culture and their role in redefining the concept of 'Made in Italy' luxury.
Organized by journalist Annalisa Cavaleri with support from Senate Vice President Gian Marco Centinaio, the award is patronized by the Senate of the Republic and the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy. The initiative seeks to shift the definition of luxury away from ostentation and toward values such as identity, ethics, sustainability, creativity, and the preservation of local traditions.
Among the recipients were prominent Italian chefs Mauro Uliassi and Moreno Cedroni, alongside other notable figures including Carlo Cracco, Massimiliano Alajmo, and Iginio Massari. International honorees included Hélène Darroze, Ana Roš, and Umberto Bombana.
