Luxury hotels in Rio de Janeiro undergo major renovations
Luxury hotels in Rio de Janeiro are undergoing significant renovations to enhance high-end guest experiences.
The Copacabana Palace is transforming its former annex into the ‘Ala da Piscina’, scheduled to reopen in November 2026. The project, designed by architect Ivan Rezende, will reduce the number of accommodations from 96 to 68 larger suites, all featuring private balconies. The new structure will include a five-story wellness center, a new pool bar, and a boutique. Room rates are expected to range from R$ 5,000 to R$ 35,000 per day.
Meanwhile, the Pestana Rio Atlântica has completed a full renovation of its Presidential Suite and 22 Ocean Suites. The updates focus on modernizing decor, lighting, and furnishings to emphasize views of Copacabana and Sugarloaf Mountain. The hotel has also introduced an exclusive rooftop breakfast service for guests staying in these premium suites.
