Omega updates Speedmaster 38mm collection with Moonwatch-inspired designs

Omega is updating its Speedmaster 38mm collection with seven new references designed to align more closely with the aesthetic of the iconic 42mm Moonwatch Professional. Key design changes include replacing the previous oval subdials with rounded registers, reducing dial text for a cleaner look, and introducing a thicker tachymeter bezel featuring the “Dot Over Ninety” detail. The new models also feature five-link bracelets inspired by the Moonwatch.

The collection includes various finishes: a classic stainless steel model with a black dial and no date, white dials with blue ceramic or Sedna gold accents, and luxury versions featuring mother-of-pearl or diamond-set bezels. Most models utilize the automatic Co-Axial Calibre 3330, while the dateless black version uses the Calibre 3332.

In a separate announcement, Swatch and Omega are releasing the MISSION TO THE MOON 1969, a limited edition of 1,969 pieces. This timepiece incorporates 11 grams of 18-karat Moonshine Gold—recycled from Omega spare parts—into its design. To commemorate the 1969 moon landing, the watch is priced at 500 Swiss francs, reflecting the value of the gold at that time.
