Luxury watchmakers introduce new internal excellence standards

Luxury watch manufactures Greubel Forsey and Jaeger-LeCoultre are introducing new internal standards to certify excellence in craftsmanship and precision.

Greubel Forsey has launched the Balancier QM, marking the introduction of its ‘Qualité Musée’ (Museum Quality) philosophy. This standard aims to ensure every component of a timepiece is finished to a level suitable for museum display. Developed with the Experimental Watch Technology (EWT) laboratory, the Balancier QM features a 39.60 mm grey gold case and a manual-wind movement consisting of 298 elements.

Jaeger-LeCoultre has unveiled its ‘High Precision Guarantee’ (HPG), an internal certification combining chronometric precision with aesthetic finishing. Initially appearing on the Master Control Chronomètre collection, the label is intended to be rolled out across all collections starting in 2027. This initiative builds on the brand's history of rigorous testing, such as the ‘1,000 Hour Control’ established in 1992.
