Luxury watchmakers launch limited editions to mark major anniversaries

Several major watchmaking brands are celebrating significant milestones and launching limited edition collections.

Patek Philippe is hosting the Watch Art Grand Exhibition in Milan, debuting seven limited models exclusive to the Italian market. These include a technical premiere, the Ref. 5978P-010, which combines a manual-wind chronograph with an instantaneous perpetual calendar in platinum.

Other brands are marking anniversaries with specialized releases. Raymond Weil has launched the Millesime Jubilee, a limited edition of 500 automatic bi-compax chronographs, to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Seiko has introduced two limited quartz models from its Power Design Project Collection featuring panda-inspired designs created by Kiyotaka Sakai.

Additionally, several heritage brands are celebrating centennials or half-centennials. Rolex is marking 100 years of the Oyster case with a special Oyster Perpetual 41 edition. Other notable anniversaries include Tudor’s 100th year, Gallet’s 200th, and 50th anniversaries for both IWC and Patek Philippe.
