Luxury watchmakers showcase new mechanical and artisanal designs

The luxury watchmaking industry continues to emphasize the distinction between traditional mechanical craftsmanship and modern quartz technology. Mechanical timepieces rely on intricate gear systems and internal springs for energy, offering a heritage-focused alternative to battery-operated quartz models.

In recent developments, PEQUIGNET has introduced the Attitude Onyx, a French creation featuring a natural black onyx dial paired with a 316L stainless steel case and rose gold-plated accents. The watch utilizes the Calibre Initial® movement, which is developed and assembled in Morteau.

Additionally, the Geneva-based manufacture Franck Muller has unveiled the Imperium Bloc. This piece reimagines the brand’s signature barrel-shaped silhouette through a more sculptural architecture. Carved from a solid block of 18-carat rose gold, the design focuses on complex volumes and light play to redefine its iconic geometry.
