Luxury watchmakers unveil new high-complication timepieces
Several luxury watchmakers have unveiled new high-complication timepieces during the Geneva Watch Days event.
De Bethune introduced the DB25 Digitale, an updated version of its jumping hours watch. The timepiece features a titanium case and dial, a spherical moon-phase display made from palladium and flame-blued steel, and a micro ball-bearing system that drives the jumping-hour display and rotating minute disc. The moon-phase display is designed to be accurate to within one lunar day every 1,112 years.
Girard-Perregaux presented the Laureato Fifty Tourbillon Micro-Rotor in a 39mm size. This model features a lyre-shaped tourbillon cage that completes a full rotation every minute, held by a white gold bridge in the brand’s signature arrow shape. The watch includes the Clous de Paris motif on the dial, available in blue grand feu enamel or rose gold.
Louis Vuitton unveiled the Tambour Taiko Arty Automata, a timepiece featuring a multi-tiered dial with twenty miniature elements across four dimensional levels. The watch utilizes 23 shades of champlevé enamel and includes seven kinetic animations triggered by a pusher. It is powered by the manufacture automatic Calibre LFT AU05.01, developed by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton.
