Luzerner Polizei conducts intensive training for police dog Varro

A young police dog named Varro recently completed an intensive week of training in Sörenberg. The training program was designed to expose the dog to new situations and environments to prepare for future operational deployments.

A highlight of the week included Varro’s first helicopter flight. During the flight, the dog was required to adapt to loud noises and an unfamiliar environment while wearing a muzzle for safety. This type of exposure is part of a standard training protocol for the Luzerner Polizei, ensuring that service dogs remain focused and oriented toward their handlers even in hectic, loud, or cramped conditions.
