Luzhou wellness center raided for suspected prostitution
Police in Luzhou, New Taipei City, conducted a raid on a wellness center suspected of using massage services as a cover for sexual transactions. Following citizen reports, authorities formed a task force and utilized undercover officers to gather evidence.
During the operation, an undercover officer was approached by a 47-year-old Thai technician who offered to upgrade the standard 90-minute massage for an additional 500 TWD for partial services or 2,000 TWD for full services. Upon the officer's signal, police moved in to arrest the technician and several other individuals.
Authorities seized seven female technicians, including Thai and local nationals, along with two male customers. Evidence collected at the scene included employee schedules, payroll records, massage oils, surveillance equipment, and mobile phones. Police reported a single-day revenue of 16,600 TWD and seized approximately 141,000 TWD in suspected illegal proceeds. The case has been referred to the New Taipei District Prosecutors Office for investigation into violations of the Social Order Maintenance Act and crimes related to public decency.
