Luzzara commemorates fallen Carabinieri Brigadier Pasquale Iscaro

On July 28, 2026, the town of Luzzara in Reggio Emilia held a solemn ceremony to mark the 28th anniversary of the death of Carabinieri Brigadier Pasquale Iscaro. Iscaro was killed on 28 July 1998 while confronting armed bank robbers, an act for which he was posthumously awarded the Gold Medal for Military Valor.

The ceremony gathered local authorities—including Prefect Salvatore Angieri, Mayor Stefania Musi, senior Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza commanders—along with Iscaro’s son Angelo, former patrol partner Umberto Cioccia, and chaplain Don Luca Giuliani, who blessed the gathering before a Mass in the San Giorgio church. Speakers highlighted Iscaro’s courage as a lasting moral example for the community and the armed forces.
