Luzzi‑Sambucina 30th Chronoscalata Launches in Calabria

The 30th edition of the Luzzi‑Sambucina chronoscalata, known as the Trofeo Silvio Molinaro, will take place from 31 July to 2 August on the SP 248 road in Calabria. The event is part of the Campionato Italiano Velocità Montagna Sud and will feature 187 entries ranging from modern hill‑climb cars to historic vehicles. Two timed‑run sessions are scheduled for 1 August, followed by the official climbs on 2 August.

Island Motorsport, led by Eros Di Prima, will enter two historic cars: Ciro Barbaccia in an Osella PA9/90 BMW and Salvo Vitale in a Gi. Pi. Sport Cosworth. The top‑class E2SC/SS 3000 field includes Luigi Fazzino (Osella PA21 EVO), Achille Lombardi (Osella PA30 EVO) and Samuele Cassibba (Nova Proto NP01 Sinergy), among others competing for overall podium positions.

In a separate event, the San Nicola slalom in San Giuliano del Sannio attracted regional drivers. Adriano Ricci won in a Formula Gloria, with Giuseppe Bocchetta (Autobianchi A112) and Riccardo Di Veronica (Fiat X 1/9) completing the podium. The slalom covered a 2‑km, 990‑m circuit and was organized by the Tecno Motor Racing Team and Gruppo Ufficiali di Gara La Casta.
