Álvaro Barambio defends role as sole administrator of Blue Tuna SA

Álvaro Barambio, a spokesperson for the Popular Municipal Group in Cuenca, has addressed reports regarding his dual roles. While maintaining a position of exclusive dedication at the Cuenca City Council, Barambio was appointed as the sole administrator of the commercial company Blue Tuna SA in April.

Barambio clarified that he performs his duties at Blue Tuna SA “a título GRATUITO” (for free) and stated that his only income during the current legislature has come from the City Council. He noted that the appointment was a public act published in the Official Gazette of the Mercantile Registry, rejecting claims that he attempted to hide the position. He further expressed his intention to remain involved in legal, tax, and business advisory work throughout his political term.
