Álvaro Fidalgo faces uncertain future at Real Betis

Mexican midfielder Álvaro Fidalgo faces an uncertain future at Real Betis following a lack of playing time at the start of the new LaLiga season. Despite having played only 17 minutes across preseason and the first two league matches, Fidalgo has expressed optimism regarding his continuity with the Spanish club, stating, “Man, I hope so,” when asked about his desire to stay.

However, reports suggest the Real Betis board, led by Manu Fajardo, may seek to reduce the club's wage bill to fund new signings, potentially making Fidalgo a candidate for departure. While the player prefers to remain in Spain to consolidate his career, a return to Liga MX is considered a possibility if an attractive sporting and economic project arises. Currently, Fidalgo remains in a position where he must compete for minutes under manager Manuel Pellegrini.
