Álvaro Montero travels to Colombia amid family bereavement

Boca Juniors goalkeeper Álvaro Montero has traveled to Colombia following the death of his grandmother. The club granted him special leave to be with his family after the team's 1-0 victory against San Pablo in the Copa Sudamericana quarterfinals.

Montero's availability for the upcoming Torneo Clausura match against Central Córdoba, scheduled for Friday at La Bombonera, remains uncertain due to his travel schedule. Manager Rodolfo Arruabarrena confirmed the situation, noting Montero's recent strong performances. If the Colombian goalkeeper is unable to return in time, Leandro Brey is expected to start in goal.

Montero's return schedule is also impacting his potential participation in the second leg of the Copa Sudamericana against San Pablo next Tuesday. He may either return to Buenos Aires first or travel directly to Brazil to join the squad.
