Álvaro Ramos proposes integrated leadership slate for PLN

Álvaro Ramos Chaves, a former presidential candidate for the National Liberation Party (PLN), has proposed a complete slate of candidates for the party's leadership ahead of the National Assembly on October 10. Ramos is urging delegates to elect an “integrated formula” rather than individual candidates for each position to ensure a cohesive leadership team for the next four years.

The proposed leadership team includes Óscar Izquierdo for President, Alexandra Blanco for General Secretary, and Annie Saborío for Treasurer. The list also features Daniela Coll for Vice Presidency, Alvis González for Sub-secretariat, Rafael “Fello” Vargas for Sub-treasury, and Óscar González for the Prosecutor's Office.

Ramos argued that electing separate candidates could lead to a committee focused on internal negotiations rather than external party building. He specifically highlighted Izquierdo’s deep knowledge of the party structure and territory as vital for the 2028 municipal and 2030 national elections. He also noted that Blanco’s executive experience would help maintain a permanently active party structure.
