LVBP Plans 2026-27 Season at Margarita Convention
The Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional (LVBP) will hold its annual convention from 4 to 6 September on Margarita Island. Executives from the eight member clubs – Águilas del Zulia, Bravos de Margarita, Cardenales de Lara, Caribes de Anzoátegui, Leones del Caracas, Navegantes del Magallanes, Tiburones de La Guaira and Tigres de Aragua – will discuss the official calendar, competition format, rule revisions, import‑player quotas, visa and logistics protocols, stadium conditions, security plans and the professionalisation of the umpiring corps.
LVBP president Giuseppe Palmisano reiterated the league’s commitment to strengthen Caribbean winter baseball in cooperation with the Confederación de Béisbol Profesional del Caribe (CBPC). He thanked regional leagues for solidarity after recent earthquakes in Venezuela and noted ongoing projects such as the Serie del Caribe Kids in Nayarit, Mexico, while the planned Serie del Caribe Teens has been postponed pending recovery.
The convention is the key preparatory step for the 2026‑27 season, aiming to ensure operational and competitive stability for Venezuela’s premier sport.
