LVBP teams begin preseason training for upcoming season

Teams in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) have begun their preseason preparations for the upcoming season.

Leones del Caracas held its second day of preseason training at the Estadio Monumental de Caracas. Position players and pitching staff, including relievers Anthony Vizcaya and Mikell Manzano, reported for medical exams and meetings. Batting coach Ramón Castro emphasized the need for the team to elevate its performance level to meet new organizational standards under Operations Manager Robinson Chirinos.

Meanwhile, Caribes de Anzoátegui is preparing at Chico Carrasquel. Veteran catcher Jesús Sucre has returned to the team for what will be his final season as an active player. Sucre, who has played nearly two decades in Venezuelan baseball and seven seasons in Major League Baseball, enters his 17th winter season in the league.
