Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi finds suspected surveillance device in official car

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi reported finding a suspicious device in his official vehicle that appears to be a surveillance tool. The discovery occurred during a vehicle inspection prompted by a recurring issue with a discharging battery. Upon removing a bracket, Sadovyi found equipment containing circuit boards, wires, an antenna, and a SIM card.

Sadovyi stated he does not know who placed the device but noted he is not opposed to legal surveillance conducted under official court orders. He has pledged to report the incident to the relevant authorities. This follows a similar incident in September 2024, when a listening device was discovered in his office, an event that was investigated by the Security Service of Ukraine but reportedly yielded no concrete follow-up information.
