LVMH reports modest profit rise, US demand offsets Middle East turmoil

LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton announced first‑half 2026 revenue of €38.6 billion, a 3 % decline on a reported basis but a 2 % rise on an organic basis. Operating profit fell 4 % to €8.7 billion and the operating margin remained at 22.5 %.

The fashion and leather goods division posted a 1 % organic sales increase in the second quarter – the first quarterly gain in two years – while the watches and jewellery division posted an 11 % organic sales rise. The wines & spirits business grew 5 % organically. Strong US demand, with sales up 6 % in Q2, helped offset weaker European and Gulf markets impacted by the Iran‑related conflict, which the company said cut fashion division growth by one percentage point.

CEO Bernard Arnault said the results confirm the group’s strategy and expressed confidence heading into the second half. LVMH’s shares have fallen roughly 28 % since the start of the year, making the stock one of Europe’s worst‑performing large‑caps.

Entities: Bernard Arnault · Bulgari · Jonathan Anderson · LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton · LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE · Tiffany & Co.
