LWL politicians explore assistive technologies for disability inclusion

Politicians from the Green faction of the LWL visited the Rehacare trade fair in Düsseldorf to explore how technological innovations can foster independent and barrier-free work for people with disabilities.

Representatives from the LWL inclusion office presented various assistive solutions from industry partners. These included exoskeletons from Fraunhofer IML designed to ease physically demanding tasks, the Auracast system from Humantechnik GmbH to assist with hearing, and specialized programmable keyboards from Meier und Schütte that allow for single-handed operation. The visit highlighted the role of technical adaptations in reducing workplace barriers and promoting professional participation.
