Lyca Mobile launches 150 GB 5G plan for €7.99 in France

Lyca Mobile, a UK‑based MVNO operating on Bouygues Telecom’s network, introduced a 150 GB 5G data plan priced at €7.99 per month, with a free SIM and no contract. The offer stands out in a French mobile market where the average price for unlimited‑call plans with at least 20 GB of data has risen to around €15, and most major operators charge over €10 for 5G service.

At the same time, other low‑cost operators are promoting competitive alternatives. Lebara and YouPrice on the Orange and SFR networks, as well as B&YOU on Bouygues, provide 50‑60 GB plans for €5.99‑€7.99 per month. These MVNO offers aim to counter the price hikes of the incumbent brands and give consumers affordable high‑data options.

The combined push from MVNOs highlights a broader trend of price competition in France’s mobile sector, offering consumers significantly cheaper high‑data packages than those traditionally offered by the major carriers.
