Lycabettus Municipal Theatre announces autumn cultural program

The Lycabettus Municipal Theatre in Athens is launching a diverse cultural program running from late August through early October. Managed by the Municipality of Athens, the venue serves as a major open-air cultural destination, offering a mix of ancient drama, modern theater, and major musical performances.

Musical highlights include a performance by composer Evangélia Rebetouka, featuring her cinematic soundtracks and orchestral works such as ‘Politiki Kouzina’ and ‘Notia’. The theatrical program features classical works including Euripides’ ‘The Bacchae’—an international co-production—as well as plays by Aeschylus, Aristophanes, and Sophocles.

Athens Mayor Charis Doukas noted that the high public response to previous seasons confirms the city's need for a vibrant, open theater that caters to all generations and artistic forms.
