Lydia Lozano reflects on tough years at 'Sálvame' during 'De lunes a viernes' interview

On 6 August, veteran TV journalist Lydia Lozano was the focus of a special segment titled “El álbum de mi vida” on Telecinco’s daytime programme “De lunes a viernes”. Guided by a psychologist, she revisited her career, from her early work at Mediaset and her first appearance on “Hablando se entiende la gente” to the demanding period after joining the reality‑talk show “Sálvame”. Lozano recalled moments when she told herself she did not want to go to the programme, saying she would open the door at home and think, “I’m going to come back worse than when I left”. She emphasized that she never “puts green” on programmes that gave her her career, noting she could have left but chose to stay, learning a great deal and feeling happy overall.

The broadcast also featured a heated exchange with fellow collaborator Rosa Benito, who accused Lozano of staying for fame and referenced former Mediaset boss Paolo Vasile, claiming he had asked her “on her knees” to return. Benito also alluded to Terelu Campos. Lozano defended her choices, stating she remained because she loved television and learned from the experience.
