Lydia Tricha presents book on women in Charilaos Trikoupis' life

Author Lydia Tricha presented her new book, ‘From Smaragd to Maria. 1784-1897: The Women in the Life of Charilaos Trikoupis’, at the Trikoupis family estate garden in Missolonghi.

The event combined historical review with literature and music, featuring participation from the reading group of the 2nd General Lyceum of Missolonghi and members of the ‘Iosif Rogon’ Philharmonic. During the presentation, Tricha highlighted the central theme of her work: bringing visibility to the female figures surrounding the prominent Greek statesman Charilaos Trikoupis, including his grandmothers, mother, aunt, and lover, noting that while the men in his lineage are well-known, the women remain largely overlooked in historical discourse.
