Lyn Hall appointed chair of Northern Health board

Lyn Hall, the former mayor of Prince George, has been appointed as the new chair of the Northern Health board of directors. The appointment was made by British Columbia Minister of Health Ravi Kahlon.

Hall, who joined the Northern Health board in May 2025, will serve a term lasting until April 2029. He succeeds Colleen Nyce, who held the position of chair for nine years. To ensure a smooth leadership transition, Nyce will remain on the board until the end of 2026 and has also been appointed to the board of the Provincial Health Services Authority.

During Nyce’s tenure, Northern Health managed challenges including the COVID-19 pandemic, workforce pressures, and significant infrastructure development across northern British Columbia.
