Lynetteholm to receive 25 million DKK for nature and coastal facilities
Copenhagen Municipality has announced plans to invest 25 million DKK into facilities for the Lynetteholm coastal landscape to transform the area into an attractive destination for recreation and nature.
The project includes the development of a two-level observation tower, a 500-square-meter nature playground, and a coastal path stretching between 225 and 275 meters. The landscape will feature trees, grass areas, ponds, and wooden platforms for fishing and viewing.
In addition to recreational use, the project serves as nature-based climate adaptation, acting as storm surge protection for Copenhagen. The first phase, covering approximately eight hectares, is expected to be completed in 2029. Once fully finished, the entire area will span roughly 60 hectares, a size comparable to Fælledparken.
