Lynge homeowner discovers mysterious box during roof renovation

During a roof renovation of a house built in 1908 in Lynge, a mysterious box was discovered containing a child's tooth, a severed braid, loose hair, and a small brush.

Archaeologists from Museum Nordsjælland are currently investigating the find. Pernille Pantmann, an archaeologist and research coordinator at the museum, noted that such objects have historically been hidden in buildings to ward off illness, accidents, or evil forces, though the specific purpose of this box remains unconfirmed. The box is part of a larger museum initiative to collect items and stories related to past beliefs and folklore. It is currently on temporary display in Hillerød.
