Lynn Fitch’s Appeal Rejected by Mississippi Supreme Court Amid Gubernatorial Campaign

The Mississippi Supreme Court on July 30 denied Attorney General Lynn Fitch’s request to review the Mississippi Court of Appeals decision that had overturned part of Beth Ann White’s 110‑year sentence for a fourth‑offense DUI that killed Allison Conaway and her six‑month‑old son. The court ruled the fourth‑offense DUI charge could not be added because it fell outside the two‑year statutory limitation period. White remains incarcerated at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility.

While the legal appeal was rejected, Fitch continued her campaign for governor, speaking to supporters at a Mexican restaurant in Southaven. She presented herself as a Trump‑aligned conservative and was introduced by DeSoto County Supervisor Mark Gardner and Sheriff Thomas Tuggle, who praised her character.
