Lynn Herring discusses ‘General Hospital’ return and Lucy Coe storyline

Actress Lynn Herring, who has played Lucy Coe on ‘General Hospital’ for 40 years, is returning to a prominent storyline involving a battle for control of the cosmetics company Deception. The character is currently attempting to reclaim shares of the company from Michael Corinthos to prevent the Quartermaine family from maintaining control.

Herring revealed she has kept an original crystal perfume bottle prop from the early days of the Deception storyline, which began in 1991. She noted that the character’s motivations are driven by a long-standing desire for acceptance from the Quartermaine family.

On a personal note, Herring shared that returning to regular work on the show has provided a sense of healing following the death of her husband, Wayne Northrop, in November 2024. The actress also discussed the return of Serena Baldwin, Lucy’s daughter, to the series.
