Lyon metropolitan area sees three falls from buildings in 24 hours

Three separate incidents involving individuals falling from buildings occurred within the Lyon metropolitan area between Sunday, August 16, and Monday, August 17.

In Villeurbanne, a 57-year-old man died after falling from a seventh-floor apartment in the Flachet sector. Emergency responders found the residence locked and used a large ladder to enter; a cutter and a letter explaining the act were discovered at the scene.

In Givors, a 50-year-old woman died after falling from the fourth floor of a building on Rue Casanova. Authorities are treating the incident as a potential suicide.

In Lyon's 7th arrondissement, a 23-year-old woman fell from a first-floor apartment on Rue Rachais in the Guillotière district. She was hospitalized in critical condition.

Investigations have been opened into these incidents to determine the exact circumstances and whether they were suicides.
