Lyon tramway lines T3, T7 and Rhônexpress resume service

Tramway lines T3, T7, and the Rhônexpress have resumed service in the Lyon area following a two-day interruption. Traffic began returning to normal at 8:40 a.m. on Friday, August 14, after extensive overnight repairs.

The service disruption was caused by a road incident on Wednesday, August 12, at the Salengro / Canuts intersection in Vaulx-en-Velin. A vehicle struck and damaged essential electrical infrastructure, including more than 500 meters of overhead contact lines.

Technical teams from TCL and RATP Dev Lyon worked through the night to reinstall the damaged lines and conduct successful testing to ensure safe operation. While service has resumed, the Rhônexpress also faced a strike on Friday organized by the CGT union, which is protesting working conditions and demanding more human and material resources.
