Lytton River Festival proceeds despite wildfire season
The Lytton River Festival is scheduled to take place on September 5 and 6 at the confluence of the Fraser and Thompson rivers. Despite an ongoing wildfire season in the region, organizers intend to proceed with the event, though they noted that dates may change depending on wildfire activity, smoke, air quality, and road conditions.
This year’s festival will feature a focus on Lytton’s Chinese heritage, including programming with the Lytton Chinese History Museum, local First Nations, and community groups. Planned activities include gold panning, cultural and historical talks, live music, artisan vendors, and a pancake breakfast. Admission to the festival is free.
