Lézan and Gérardmer inaugurate new local health centers

New local health centers have been officially inaugurated in Lézan and Gérardmer, France, to improve proximity to medical care.

In Lézan, the Henri Deleuzon Health Center was inaugurated on September 10, 2026. The facility, which has been operational since late 2025, was built to ensure sustained local healthcare access. The project cost approximately €722,000, with the municipality providing €344,000. The remaining funding was shared among the State, the Gard Department, and Alès Agglomération. The center currently hosts two doctors, though officials are seeking additional practitioners.

In Gérardmer, the Cercenée health center was also inaugurated. The 260 m² facility, which opened in November 2025, now hosts six healthcare professionals, including two nurses, two midwives, a general practitioner, and a dentist. The project was initiated by local nurses to provide services between the center of Gérardmer and Xonrupt-Longemer.
