Lázaro Cárdenas authorities seize cannabis greenhouse and weapons

State and federal authorities conducted two search operations in the towns of Solferino and Chiquilá within the Lázaro Cárdenas municipality, resulting in the seizure of a cannabis greenhouse and an arsenal.

In Solferino, officials discovered a greenhouse containing dried cannabis, several live plants, and various drug packaging materials. In Chiquilá, a second operation led to the seizure of various doses of cannabis and other white and beige substances, along with scales, a bag sealer, and communication equipment.

The most significant findings included a large cache of weaponry: three 7.62 caliber long guns, one AR-15 style rifle, a grenade launcher, 14 magazines, and over 370 cartridges. Authorities also recovered tactical gear, including three bulletproof vests marked “Marina”, a gray vest with ballistic plates, and tactical clothing. All seized items have been placed at the disposal of ministerial authorities to continue investigations into the origin of the weapons and potential links to criminal activities.
